The Kazan Mother of God

The Kazan icon of the Most Holy Mother of God is a symbol of intercession, miraculous help, and maternal protection. She is considered the protectress of the home, family, and Fatherland, and her history is full of testimonies to deep faith and spiritual victories. The Kazan icon is the principal "wedding" icon, traditionally used to bless newlyweds for a long and happy life together. Faithful pray before it for family happiness, assistance for children, healing of illnesses, and protection from misfortune. It is an ideal choice for a marriage blessing, a housewarming gift, or a baptism. The Kazan image will become the spiritual center of the home, bringing peace, assurance, and grace-filled protection to all its inhabitants.
