Christ in the Crown of Thorns

The icon "Christ in the Crown of Thorns" is one of the most sorrowful and at the same time poignant images of the Savior. This image captures Jesus Christ at the moment of His Passion, when a crown of thorns was placed on His head, mocking His Royal dignity. His gaze is full of suffering, but behind it, one can feel Divine power and the readiness to accept death on the cross for the salvation of mankind. The crown of thorns with its sharp spikes symbolizes not only humiliation and physical pain, but also the victory over sin and death. This icon is a powerful reminder of the great sacrifice made for each of us. Prayer before this image helps believers find comfort in sorrows, strengthen their faith in difficult moments of life, and learn patience and how to bear their own life's cross.
